A local training event for optometrists practicing in the Powys area. 

The focus of the evening is glaucoma and the anterior chamber in glaucoma, with an emphasis on improving patient outcomes and building better communication between optometric practice and secondary care.

There will be input from WOPEC accreditation tutors and a glaucoma specialist ophthalmologist. 6 interactive GOC CET points have been applied for.

The evening will run as follows:

5.45 pm – arrival and registration
6.00pm – lecture from glaucoma consultant Mr Jay Menon
6.45pm – refreshments and buffet
7.15pm – Interative Visual Recognition Test. 
7.45pm - Discussion workshop.

The evening will be finished by 9.00pm.

Delegates will have the opportunity to discuss the techniques they currently use in practice with regards to glaucoma. The importance of anterior segment examintion with patients as part of the routine glaucoma assessment will be discussed. Clinical images will be made availle to facilitate this discussion.

This event is funded by Welsh Government and free to practitioners. However, those who book a place and fail to attend (without notifying WOPEC) will be invoiced for £50 by Cardiff University.
