This event is for optometrists wishing to deliver EHEW services (new to EHEW). Any fully qualified optometrist, with a GOC-01- number, registered to practice in Wales can be accredited to provide EHEW examinations.
If you would like to undertake training and accreditation, please register on this website and book onto a timeslot for the OSCE assessment and the workshop. You will then be emailed a unique promo code to allow you to complete the CET approved distance learning lectures and corresponding MCQs. Registration for everyone is 17.45. You will be required to undertake a 1 hour EHEW discussion workshop, the assessment and a short lecture on EHEW services. Please book a slot on the assessment and workshop. Please allow 3 hours for the whole event.
The assessment is in the form of five OSCEs, each takes 6 minutes. The OSCEs are based on the distance learning lectures.

- Station 1 - Volk BIO
- Station 2 - Patient interaction
- Station 3 & 4 - Structured Oral’s
- Station 5 - Referral
Practice makes perfect - The only practical element is the slit lamp Volk BIO station, it is expected that you regularly practice this examination technique on your routine, un-dilated patients.
