This event is solely intended for Specsavers optometrists within the area who wish to undertake their MECS Part 2 practical

The assessment is in the form of five OSCEs, each takes 5 minutes. Allow 70 minutes for the briefing and full assessment. The OSCEs are based on the seven LOCSU MECS distance learning lectures. These lectures and MCQs must be successfully completed at least 3 days before the event. You should have already received your promo code and instructions in order to access these lectures via the WOPEC website.
OSCE stations
- Station 1 - Volk BIO
- Station 2 - Patient interaction
- Station 3 & 4 - Structured Oral’s
- Station 5 - Referral
Practice makes perfect - The only practical element is the slit lamp Volk BIO station, it is expected that you regularly practice this examination technique on your routine, un-dilated patients.
Cancellations
Payment to WOPEC for their events should be made promptly on receiving the email detailing process. Failure to pay or correspond with WOPEC regarding your booking may result in your place being offered to someone else.
Some events require fee payment directly to the commissioning body and details are stated within. Other events are funded by a commissioning body at no charge to the attendee - do still notify WOPEC if you wish to cancel your place so it may be allocated to another person.
Cancellation made less than 5 working days before event may result in no refund of payment.
