Postgraduate module in Eye Care for People with Learning Disabilities

Did you know that you that Cardiff University offers a postgraduate module in Eye Care for People with Learning Disabilities?

We are emailing you because you have completed the LOCSU training course and we thought it might be useful for you to be aware of how we can support your education further in this specialist area.

In this module, practitioners attend Cardiff University for two consecutive days for workshops which would enable you to hone your clinical assessment techniques with patients. There are also tutorials and guided discussions of typical case presentations from optometric practice which facilitates discussion and sharing experiences with colleagues. Another visit will allow you to take part in a Special Assessment clinic at Cardiff. This module also has 7 lectures, delivered via Learning Central, the University's e-learning system, with supporting resources and references supplied. The Module is Led by Dr Margaret Woodhouse OBE, an international expert in this field.

There are 10 CET points available for the module and the cost in the next academic year is £575, which is similar to the CET grant.

We are accepting admissions now for the next start date of September 2017. To find out more please email us at pgoptom@cardiff.ac.uk or call us on 029 2087 6316.
