Two days of intensive practical training. This event has run for more than 15 years, three times a year. All aspects of the refraction certificate syllabus will be covered by experienced and qualified tutors in hands on practical sessions, maximum tutor to student ratio 1:4. The mock OSCE exam will involve 8 ten-minute stations, with feedback provided. During the weekend there will be some pre-presbyope patients to practise on.
In line with the latest RCO refraction exam format, we will be concentrating on spectacle focimetry, retinoscopy on model eyes and real pre-presbyopes, and teaching of subjective refraction techniques. Six distance learning lectures, with multiple choice questions, should be completed prior to attending. These will be available on-line via the website 1 month in advance.
The cost is £650 per person. Lunch goody bag and refreshments provided. Please bring your own drinks and nibbles for during the day. Event times are:

Cancellations
Payment to WOPEC for their events should be made promptly on receiving the email detailing process. Failure to pay or correspond with WOPEC regarding your booking may result in your place being offered to someone else.
Some events require fee payment directly to the commissioning body and details are stated within. Other events are funded by a commissioning body at no charge to the attendee - do still notify WOPEC if you wish to cancel your place so it may be allocated to another person.
Cancellation made less than 5 working days before event may result in no refund of payment.
